"Did you know that Meyvaert is older than Belgium?"

While Belgium officially became a country in 1830, Meyvaert's story began even earlier, in 1826, right in the heart of Ghent, Belgium.

This is when the Meyvaert family entered the glass and mirror-making business, opening a shop in the city center of Ghent. What started as a small family glass and mirror shop soon grew into an industrial powerhouse known as "Spiegelfabriek" by the early 1900s, producing not only mirrors but also security glass structures. In the 1960s, the very first Meyvaert museum display case was created.
